To help you save time and effort when citing websites, books, journal articles, and other select source types, the Cite This For Me citation tool automatically searches for reference information based on the details you previously provided. That could be the source’s title, author, editor, URL, DOI number, ISBN, or even a keyword.
The results above are all the sources found using the search information you inputted and source type you selected. If you don’t see your source, try going back a step and refining your search query.
If you need help remembering what your search query was, look above the line at the line that says “Results for…”

Once you select your source, you’ll be taken to a confirmation page to review what notable information was and was not found. After that, you will be taken directly to a citation form. Any notable information that was found will already be automatically inputted into the form.
The citation form is editable! You can confirm and leave the auto-inputted information as is, edit what’s there, and add any additional details before adding the reference to your list—you’re always in control and have the final say on your references.
Once you’re done with the form, click “Complete Citation” and the citation will be formatted and added to your bibliography (in the right order). It’s easy, efficient, and a smart way to create references and citations.
Fear not! You still have tools at your fingertips! Each source type has an easy-to-use citation form. Click the button “Create a Manual Citation” to go directly to the form.
Each blank is clearly labelled and any space with a star is information that you’ll probably need. Once you input everything, click “Create Citation” and the Cite This For Me form will automatically generate a formatted citation! It’s that easy.
