When you are citing a specific quote from a video in an in-text citation in APA style, include the contributor’s last name, the year the video was published, and a timestamp for the beginning of the quote in parentheses. The contributor may be either the director or uploader, depending on the video type.
For the timestamp, include the seconds, minutes, and hours (if necessary), with each number separated only by a colon. For example, “HH:MM:SS” if you have all three components; “MM:SS” for minutes and seconds; or “0:SS” for seconds alone.
The template and examples below show how to create an in-text citation for a direct video quote in APA style.

Examples:
Parenthetical: (Lindsey, 2015, 05:54:26)
Narrative: Lindsey says clearly that the “committee members could not agree more” (2015, 05:54:26).
If your source does not have an individual contributor and has an institutional contributor instead, use its name in the place of the artist or individual contributor in in-text citations.
Examples:
Parenthetical: (Xenus, 2021, 21:23)
Narrative: According to Xenus, their devices “outperform their counterparts at every level” (2021, 21:23).
When citing an online image in an APA-style reference list, you should include the name of the artist, the year the image was published, the title of the image and description of the medium, the name of the website where the image was found, and the URL. If no title for the image is available, you can provide a description in square brackets instead.
When citing an online video, you must also include the publication date, title and description of the video, the name of the website, and the URL. But for a video, the name of the person or organization who uploaded the video should be used in the author field.
