Grigorescu is a Romanian conceptual artist. In the 1970s, his work commented on private life under a communist regime, capturing an atmosphere of surveillence and imprisonment. This photograph shows the wedding feast of his sister. Yet the low point, lack of composition and shadowy edges suggest the sinister undertones of an image taken by a hidden camera, or seen through a key hole. [1]
